Ages of Sarasa
Ages of Sarasa is the catalogue to accompany the current exhibition at the Fukuoka Art Museum, Japan. It contains an introduction and essay ‘The Names of Trade Textiles in 17th and 18th Century Records: What Exactly Were Salpicado, Gingham and Sacerguntes?’ by curator Iwanaga Etsuko. An essay by Shoji Sachiko- ‘Are National Costumes Trade Textiles?: An Introduction to Sarasa in Africa’ as well as an interview with Mr Tomie Fumio, Counselor of Nishizawa Limited on ‘The Challenges of Trading in African Print Textiles’.
