The terms and conditions on which we publish HALI, operate this website, and sell subscriptions and goods.

1. About us and these terms and conditions

This website is operated by Hali Publications Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 01391142, with its registered office at 6 Sylvester Path, London E8 1EN. Our VAT registration number is 911 3029 70.In these terms and conditions, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Hali Publications Ltd.These terms and conditions govern your use of hali.com and the purchase of any products or services from us, including print and digital subscriptions, single issues, books and other goods.By accessing or using this website, or by placing an order with us, you confirm that you accept these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data and forms part of these terms and conditions.

2. Using the website

You may access and use the public areas of this website for your personal, non-commercial use only.You must not copy, reproduce, redistribute, republish, scrape, frame or otherwise use any content on this website, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission.We reserve the right to modify, suspend, withdraw or restrict access to all or any part of this website at any time, without notice.

3. Your account

Some features of this website require you to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and confidential and for all activity carried out under your account.If you believe your account has been accessed or used without your permission, please notify us as soon as possible.We reserve the right to suspend or close your account if you breach these terms and conditions or if your account is used to access content fraudulently or without authorisation.

4. Subscriptions

Every subscription includes the HALI newsletter, access to the HALI digital archive, and a 10% discount on books purchased through the HALI Shop. Print + Digital subscriptions also include four printed issues of HALI per publication year, delivered to the postal region selected at checkout. Digital subscriptions provide online access only.Print + Digital subscriptions begin with the next published issue. The subscription price varies depending on the delivery region selected and includes postage. Digital subscriptions begin immediately upon purchase.Digital subscriptions provide immediate access to digital content. By purchasing a Digital subscription, you request that access begins immediately and acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once access to the digital content has been provided.Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each subscription term unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account. Cancellation will prevent future renewals, but your subscription benefits, including access to the digital archive, will continue until the end of the subscription term already paid for.If, within 30 days of starting a new subscription, you decide that HALI is not right for you, please contact us and we will provide a full refund.Except as set out above, or where required by applicable law, we do not offer refunds for any unused portion of a subscription term.

5. Shop orders

Prices and availability displayed on the website may change without notice. When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the goods. A contract between you and us is formed when we send you a dispatch confirmation.Postage. Postage is charged in addition to the item price and is calculated at checkout based on the total weight of the parcel, including packaging, and the delivery destination. The postage amount shown at checkout is the amount payable by you.Delivery. We ship worldwide. Delivery times shown at checkout are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Responsibility for the goods passes to you once the goods have been delivered to you or a person you have nominated to receive them.For deliveries outside the United Kingdom, please allow up to 30 days from dispatch before contacting us about a parcel that has not arrived, as international deliveries may be delayed by customs processes. We will not treat a parcel as lost or arrange a replacement dispatch until this period has passed.Import duties and taxes. Orders are sent on a Delivered At Place (DAP) basis. This means that, for deliveries outside the United Kingdom, you are responsible for any customs duties, import VAT, handling fees or other charges applied by the destination country. These charges are determined by local authorities, are not collected by us, and are not included in the price paid at checkout.We cannot mark parcels as gifts or declare a value lower than the amount paid. If a parcel is refused or returned because applicable charges have not been paid, we will refund the cost of the goods less any outbound and return carriage costs.Faulty or damaged goods. If your order arrives damaged, faulty or is not as described, please contact us. Nothing in these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights, which may include the right to a repair, replacement or refund. To assist us with any claim against our carrier, we would appreciate being notified of any transit damage within 14 days of delivery, although this does not affect your legal rights.Cancelling an order. Consumers in the UK and EU have the right to cancel orders for physical goods within 14 days of delivery and return them for a refund. Return postage costs are your responsibility unless the goods are faulty or otherwise not as described. This cancellation right does not apply to digital content once access has been provided.

6. Intellectual property

All editorial content, photography, illustrations, design, code and other materials on this website are owned by Hali Publications Ltd, our contributors, or third-party rights holders, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish or otherwise use any content from this website without our prior written permission or the permission of the relevant rights holder.The HALI name and masthead are trademarks of Hali Publications Ltd.

7. Submissions and correspondence

Article pitches, letters to the editor and other materials you submit to us may be edited and published in print, online or through our other channels.By submitting material to us, you confirm that the work is your own, that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it, and that you grant Hali Publications Ltd a non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, edit and publish the material in connection with HALI.

8. Liability

We take reasonable care to ensure that information published on our website is accurate at the time of publication. However, the website and its content are provided on an “as is” basis.Nothing in these terms and conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.Subject to the above, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions, the website, or any products or services purchased from us shall be limited to the amount paid by you to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. The version on this page is the current one and applies from the date shown above. If a change materially affects subscribers, we will give reasonable notice by email.

10. Governing law

These terms and conditions and any contract between you and us are governed by the laws of England and Wales.The courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising in connection with these terms and conditions, except that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence where permitted by applicable law.
