FAIR
Twenty of the world’s leading carpet and textile dealers will be showing at the Mall Galleries, near Trafalgar Square at the HALI London Fair, 27-30 June 2019. Over forty years, much of HALI’s success had been through the participation of specialist dealers, both through advertising and through coverage of exhibitions and fairs, so a high quality specialist antiques fair is an important part of HALI London. TOUR
On the occasion of forty years and 200 editions of HALI magazine, we are delighted to offer a small group unique access to great antique carpets and textiles from around the world, assembled by collectors in England. This HALI Tour has been conceived as a way to lengthen and enrich the HALI London experience by offering unprecedented entry to institutions and private collections outside of the capital, it could also stand alone as a 7-day tour of the Great British Collections, 30 June-7 July 2019.
We are delighted to announce that the tour leader will be the consultant at Sotheby’s London, and expert on carpets and Islamic art, Jacqueline Coulter. Beginning in Manchester, the route moves south via Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire and Boughton House in Northamptonshire, before continuing on to Cambridge, Oxford and the Cotswolds. Antique rugs and textiles reveal diverse artistic interests and allow fascinating insight into individual collecting habits of different eras.
