HALI launches the first in a series of cultural tours in association with Martin Randall Travel: The Decorative Arts of Iberia Tour, 19 – 31 May 2015
The Victoria and Albert Museum have announced a major textile exhibition. The Fabric of India, supported by Good Earth will present 200 handmade objects that will celebrate the variety, virtuosity and incomparable richness of India’s textile traditions, 3 October 2015 – 10 January 2016.
From 26 February to 20 March 2015, Wild Teppich- und Textilkunst in Berlin-Mitte will show selected Afghan war rugs, woven in the period between the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan in the 1980s through to almost the present day. These rugs shock through juxtaposing the beauty of traditional crafts and war-related imagery.
‘The Sultan’s World’, an exhibition at the Bozar Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels, sees the Ottoman Orient interpreted in the works of western Renaissance masters.
