Bruun-Rasmussen Carpet Auction, Copenhagen 1 March 2017

For Bruun Rasmussen’s mixed Furniture and Carpets sale on 1 March 2017 at Bredegade 33 in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, Henrik Schleppegrell has assembled about seventy carpet lots. Among the featured pieces are: lot 314, a late Classical period Medallion Ushak carpet (estimate Dkr40,000): lot 330, a fine room size silk post-1950s Kashan (Dkr150,000); lot 335, a 1920s Petag Tabriz with a design taken from the famous pair of 16th century Tabriz compartment design carpets in New York and Lyons (Dkr90,000);  lot 346, a spectacular room size Heriz medallion carpet (Dkr125-150,000); lot 365, a 19th century Azerbaijan long rug with a classical palmette design, illegibly dated (Dkr35,000) and lot 383, a Khotan pomegranate design carpet (Dkr20,000). One US dollar is the equivalent of 7 Danish krone.
