  1. Bonhams Oriental Rugs and Carpets sale in Los Angeles and San Francisco, 29 July 2013

    Alone among the major international auction houses, Bonhams still has dedicated North American sales of Oriental rugs and carpets, mainly in their West Coast salerooms, but also occasionally in New York. We show a selection of lots that will be offered simultaneously in Los Angeles and San Francisco on Monday 29 July 2013.

  2. The Thyssen Mughal Hunting Carpet at Sotheby’s

    This mid-17th century North Indian Mughal carpet, until recently furnishing the Swiss home of the late Baron Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza, sold at Sotheby’s in New Bond Street, London, on 3 July 2013 (lot 23) for £314,000, approximately three times its lower estimate.

  3. Auction of antique Asian textiles in Utrecht

    The Dutch auction house Peerdeman’s special sale of Indonesian and Asian Textiles from a private European collection was held in their rooms at Mississippidreef 17, in the city of Utrecht, on Saturday 22 June with plenty of international trade in attendance.

    A new world record price at auction for a Central Asian suzani of any description was paid for on 25 May 2013 for the catalogue cover piece in Rippon Boswell’s spring sale, lot 197, a large, densely intricate, blazingly colourful mandala-like ‘Lakai’ silk on silk embroidery from an old German collection
