Kössl at Schloss Laxenburg

Schloss Laxenburg, just a few kilometres from the heart of the city of Vienna, was once the summer residence of the Habsburg Empress Elizabeth (1837-1898), better known as Sissi. From 9 to 17 April 2016, the castle will be an atmospheric venue for a special selling presentation of high quality antique collector carpets and kilims that also includes more than a hundred Caucasian, Turkmen, Turkish, Shahsavan, Persian and Kurdish smaller format rugs, prayer rugs, tent- and saddle-bags, horse and camel trappings. Under the rubric ‘Nomad Rug Art in Small Sizes’ the event is organised by Peter Kössl of Kössl Kunst & Teppich, who is well known locally for his galleries in Vienna and Ried im Innkreis. The rugs on show come from his own and other Austrian private collections.
