Venice Biennale presents Azerbaijan
Farid Rasulov’s carpet room at the Venice Biennale
The 55th Venice Biennale hosted four Azerbaijani artists this year, including Farid Rasulov. Focusing on the theme of ‘Ornamentation’, Baku based artist Rasulov presented a room covered in rugs, literally from head to foot. Using handmade Caucasian carpets and carpet prints on textiles, the 35 square metre room is enveloped in the same Chelaberd or ‘Sunburst’ design, including the furniture, walls, floors and ceilings.
