Hot off the heals of his first modern art auction, Udo Langauer’s Austria Auction Company will present its first rug sale of 2016 on the 30 April at his new headquarters in Vienna’s city centre. The sale has a broad selection of items in both origin and price, ranging from fragments for a few hundred Euros up to main carpets for approximately twenty thousand. A quick view of the 214 lots shows that there are plenty of interesting collectible items within the Turkmen weaving genre, a good selection of flatweaves and Persian bags as well as a handful of textiles. While the catalogue sales focus on more expensive and perhaps better condition pieces, this sale is aimed at encouraging new collectors into the market as well as offering a number of keenly priced collectibles for the more seasoned buyers.
