Visitors are greeted by a cosy Alpine retreat in the foyer and a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout, at the latest edition of the Battersea Decorative Fair, 20 – 25 January 2015.
145 exhibitors offer a wide array of antiques and vintage items aimed specifically at the interior design market, displayed in appealing and approachable room set formats. Regular exhibitor Pars Rug Gallery were in attendance and Joshua Lumley and Molly Hogg reported that simple two tone Moroccan rugs were popular amongst buyers on the opening day. An unusual French or English embroidery depicting a lion hung above the hearth at M. Charpentier. Elsewhere we noted an early English embroidery at Julien Carr-Linford, framed featherwork at Odette Welvaars and a striking mid 20th century needlework hanging at Henry Saywell.
