Tom Murray appointed to US Cultural Property Advisory Committee

Announcing ‘More Key Administration Posts’, President Barack Obama has revealed the appointment of HALI’s peripatetic Contributing Editor Thomas Murray to the US Government’s Cultural Property Advisory Committee. Tom Murray is an expert in Indonesian sculpture and textiles and the founder of Thomas Murray Asiatica-Ethnographica, a private gallery for tribal, Asian and textile art in Mill Valley, California. Works of art from his collection have been placed in more than 30 museums on four continents. He is past President of the Antique Tribal Art Dealers Association. President Obama said, ‘This dedicated individual brings a wealth of experience and talent to his new role and I am proud to have him serve in this Administration.  I look forward to working with him in the months and years to come.’
