The sale contains a wide range of collectible Anatolian kilims, Chinese and Tibetan rugs, central Asian weavings, Caucasian rugs and classical carpets with proven published pedigree. One of the highlights of the auction is lot 7116, the Anton Danker Ladik coupled-column prayer rug from the 17th century published by the Textile Museum, Washington, Batari and in the famous Schmutzler catalogue of type – its low estimate should be a guarantee of its being sold. Also of note is lot 7125, a rare and unusual Konya Karapinar kilim with a unique so-called stepped mihrab pattern dating to the 18th century. A number of 19th-century rugs and carpets like lot 7277, a Bakhshaish carpet, and some fine-quality town carpets and inscribed pictorials from Persia are also offered, all with enticingly low estimates. In addition, within the classical Anatolian carpets is a Star Ushak carpet published in the famous Grote-Hasenbalg book in 1922.
