Molly Hogg ‘Using Textiles as Art’ at Battersea Fair

The Spring edition of The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair takes place over the bank holiday weekend 29 April – 4 May 2014 in the giant marquee at Battersea Park, London.

This will see 140 dealers from the UK and Europe unveiling their latest exciting finds. In addition, the selling display in the large foyer area have been artfully curated by London esoteric textile dealer, Molly Hogg with the theme of ‘Using Textiles as Art’. Consisting entirely of exhibitors’ items, the display features examples from around the globe: mounted embroideries, weavings and dowry items that have become precious and fragile over time, tapestries and panels that were created as practical items with intrinsic artistic value, and tribal feather and fibre pieces.

Covelli-Tennant make their debut at the event with their distinctive furniture upholstered in vintage fabrics and 1930s cotton ikat cushions. Returning to the fair are Jenny Hicks Beach, Joshua Lumley, Molly Hogg Antique Textiles, Pars Rug Gallery, Katherine Pole and Slothert & Trice.
