Nagel, Stuttgart: Rugs & Carpets, 10 September 2013
In addition to a further consignment of Turkmen rugs and trappings from the collection of the well-known North German specialist Dr Werner Loges, and other ‘single owner’ consignments Nagel Auktionen’s sale in Stuttgart of Rugs, Carpets and Ethnographic Art on 10 September 2013 includes a full and varied complement of Turkish, Persian, Caucasian, Turkmen, Indian, Chinese and East Turkestan weavings. While condition is a potential issue for many of the lots, estimates are, as usual in Stuttgart, generally low and inviting.

Lot 1. Salor Turkmen Chuval, 1st half C19th. From the Dr. Werner Loges Collection of Turkoman Rugs. – Repaired, damaged, low pile. 81 x 139 cm (published Klieber, Turkestan. Geschichte, Kultur, Volkskunst, Teppiche, 1991, p. 119). Estimate €3000
