    The Art Institute of Chicago has unveiled its new galleries for Islamic art, meaning that the museum’s permanent collection is back on show for the first time since 2012.

  3. Textiles by Samiro Yunoki, Musée Guimet, Paris

    Le danse de forms – Textiles de Samiro Yunoki is showing at Musée national des arts asiatiques – Guimet, Paris to 12 January 2015. The exhibition marks the entry of 72 mainly textile works into the museum’s collection, that have been donated by the artist.

    A new mark for a Chinese carpet was set at Christie’s in New York on 11 December 2014, one of six world auction records set during the ‘Exceptional Sale’, by this Wanli period Ming Imperial double dragon carpet fragment.
