The autumn sees rugs and carpets of note included in three different Christie’s London sales.
‘The Carpet and the Connoisseur: The James F. Ballard Collection of Oriental Rugs’ is on display at the Saint Louis Art Museum, St Louis, USA, from 6 March – 8 May 2016.
Christie’s spring Oriental Rugs & Carpets auction on 19 April 2016 in London is headlined by an amazing trio of 17th-century Kerman ‘Vase-technique’ carpets that were once the property of Baroness Alice de Rothschild, but there is far more to the King Street sale.
LARTA, the London specialist event for period rugs, carpets, tapestries and textiles, returns for the fifth year to The Showroom in Penfold Street.
